Coffee & Tea

  • The Trails

One of my favorite, tucked-away L.A. gems. I love going to this spot after an early morning hike with a friend, before the crowds arrive, and enjoying a tea latté and quiche on their picnic tables outside.

  • Cafe Demitasse

I'm a bit of a chocolate feign and this place has the best sipping chocolate I've ever had. They even toast a little marshmallow to sit on top.

  • New High Mart

One of my favorite L.A. shops to peruse for gifts and inspiration. Owners Miho Ikeda and Richard James Brewer curate the most unique and beautiful collection of clothing, accessories and homeware.

  • Arcana: Books on the Arts

This place has you covered for most any rare and out of print book on 20th century art, architecture, design and photography. Plan to spend a good chunk of your afternoon here.

  • Anima

I recently discovered this spot and can't get enough of it. As a lover of Italian food, I can say with confidence that this place has some of the best pizza and pasta I've encountered in the city.

  • Pine & Crane

Pine & Crane is fairly new to Silver Lake's Sunset Triangle and serves up a unique hybrid of Taiwanese-Chinese food. Their Taro Milk Tea is beyond delicious, and the interior is beautiful to boot.

  • Jax Bar And Grill

A favorite old school spot located in Glendale that feels a bit like a place Don Draper would hang out in his heyday. A bloody mary and live jazz — what else could you ask for?

  • Mignon Wine & Cheese Bar

My favorite spot to meet a friend on a weeknight for a glass of red wine, a cheese platter, and a long conversation. One of those places where you can linger through the evening and feels like you're miles away from L.A.
