About Bekka

Bekka is a photographer, designer and ambassador of fun at Tattly. When she isn’t out taking photos, doing deadlifts, or eating tacos she can be found taking naps on the beach. She enjoys wandering around New York City and taking trips near or far with her family and friends.

Cafe Regular

158 Berkeley Pl, Brooklyn NY 11217

I have a penchant for tiny coffee shops and this is a regular stop for morning coffee. The best part is the total lack of snobbery from the baristas.

Gasoline Alley

331 Lafayette St, New York NY 10012

A tiny coffee shop in Manhattan just north of Houston it's my favorite place to go to beat the crazy tourist crowds of SoHo.

Shareen Vintage

13 W 17th St, New York, NY 10011

This ladies only joint has the best dresses in town, especially if, like me, you are sick of being in the same J.Crew dress as everyone else.

B&H

420 9th Ave, New York 10001

While I can't afford to go here very often B&H is the most unique shopping experience in New York. They use a complex system of conveyors to move stock from the salesfloor to the checkout area and I could watch it all day with the fascination of a three-year-old.

Gramercy Tavern

42 E 20th St, New York NY 10003

Hands down the best meals I have ever had have been at Gramercy Tavern. I like to sit in the tavern up front, not in the formal dining room in the back.

Brooklyn Farmacy

513 Henry St, Brooklyn NY 11231

This is my go-to for ice cream in Brooklyn. The first thing I tried here was a chocolate malted shake; it's so good I haven't gotten around to tasting anything else (but I hear it's all great).

Commonwealth

497 5th Ave, Brooklyn NY 11215

I love Commonwealth for its free popcorn and unassuming crowd. Bonus: a big patio out back.

Gowanus Yacht Club

323 Smith St, Brooklyn NY 11231

GYC is only open during the summer because it's entirely outdoors, but it's the best cheap beer and guacamole spot in Brooklyn.

Rockaway Beach

8601 Shore Front Pkwy, Rockaway Park NY 11694

Certain parts of the Rockaways are closed to swimmers (surfing only) and are generally crowd-free spots to relax on the beach sans boomboxes and screaming kids.

East River Ferry

E 35th St and F.D.R. Drive, New York NY

The best part about taking the East River Ferry is getting off in Greenpoint and sneaking through the hole in the fence to sit on the water.
